I surrender. Where does the flasher kit go? It's not the fuse. It's not the switch. It's the flasher kit. I've checked Chiltons and gone on-line and asked friends and co-workers, and we've scoured the car. Anyone know where the flasher kit goes? Brake lights work, signals don't. Fuses are fine. Anyone? Anyone? Please?

Marc, I rushed out to my car to look. What is this thing disguised as? Do I have to dismantle my dashboard? I'm totally baffled! Yes, it's the turn signal flasher. Is it that black cylindrical thing that I have to yank out and can't twist open? The flasher kit is silver-colored, round, with 2 prongs. Nothing under my dashboard resembles this. I think I'm in a Twilight Zone story where turn signals are a figment of my imagination. ARGH! Maybe if you could tell me what the location looks like. Sorry to sound like a dolt. I just can't find it!

If you mean the turn signal flasher, you are in luck. It is in a simple spot that everyone would miss. I watched a poor tech at Pepboys, many years ago, spend 5 hours looking for it on my wife's 93 Cavalier. The turn signal flasher is under the dash panel on the right side of the steering column. Basically, when you are sitting in the car, it is just about where your right knee would hit the dash if you were too close. I hope that helps.

I know it's very tough to find so I will see if I can offer a better explanation. It's not on the flat surface under the dash, but right where your knee would hit the lower/front dash on the right side of the steering wheel. It's been several years since I have seen it, but I believe it looks like a silver can. It's in a very weird spot, but trust me. You have to basically lay under the dash looking straight up at the front part of the dash to see it. I remember it being on an angle, but it is in that area on the front right part of the dash where your knee would hit. It might be facing towards the seat so it is hard to recognize and not facing straight down. Once you see it, you will know something that very few people do. Write if you need more help. PS. You do not have to dismantle the dash.

Damn, I just spoke to my wife about it. Look behind the lamp dimmer module. I know it's very close to where the column meets the dash on the right side. I wish I were there to show you so this would be easy.
