I don't think so either, no.
Queen Elizabeth has been an excellent ruler and, possibly down to positive media portrayal, is liked and trusted by Joe public.
Charles, however, has been made a mockery of by the press. As a result, he is not respected by the British public in general. It would not be good for him to be monarch.
I doubt it would ever happen.
I think that Charles' affair with Camilla has made him unpopular - plus, no one wants her to be the ''unofficial'' Queen.
Moreover, Princess Diana is very well loved, still. Many think Charles had a part to play in her death.
William will be next King. Partly due to the fact the public's love for his mother.

No. He won't abdicate and he will be King when the Queen dies. I don't understand why you think the Queen should step down. She's still a healthy, competent and pretty popular women. Most British people are OK with Charles. Camilla P-B is largely accepted amongst the public although she will never be Queen. Prince William isn't ready yet. Give him time to mature before he has to deal with the pressure of being King.

Heavens no, she won't do that for the reasons listed by Dart. He may, but given how long the Queen Mum lived, he'll be an old dodderer when he does. If HM did (God forbid!) become incapacitated, Charles might become Prince Regent like the Prince of Wales (later George IV) was during George III's later years, but it's not the same as king.

Hope not, plus there is a curse on the royal family. Ever since the Star of India was placed on the crown, no man has worn it for long. It's possible that William could be next, because it would be a shame if Charles tried to be a king

If I had ears like that I wouldn't want to be king either. Also, it was a very unpopular move for Diana and he to divorce. If Diana was still alive and they were still married then perhaps it would've happened. But I don't foresee Charles on the throne. William will be the next to take the crown.

That decision has already been made. It was settled within the family when Charles got to be with Camilla. He will step aside for William who will give the monarchy a real shot in the arm, which they know they desperately need. It is a brilliant strategy and it will work. Just wait and see.

I doubt it very much. He's going to get passed over and it's going to be William who becomes king. Queen Elizabeth II is used to the authority and responsibility that comes with her title. She's not going to give that up.

He will be unless he predeceases his mother. I don’t see Charles stepping down his Uncle (Edward VIII) did it for love. Charles has already proven he wouldn’t have done that. If he had he would never have married Diane and just married Camila right away. I don’t see how Charles could be passed over the current Queen would likely have to step down before she died in order for that to happen, and I don’t see that occurring.

no, i really dont see him ever becoming king--the royal family is in need of some serious help and if they want to liven things up and also appeal to younger generations, then they should let prince william be king and start all over--beisdes, prince charles is divorced and people who are divorced are not allowed to be king or queen.
