Hell Yeah, I'm better than those "simpsons".

It's a very hard call between those two shows. The Simpsons is the original, you can't ever go wrong with the original. However, the episodes during the 90s and early 2000s I found much more entertaining than the episodes are now. And Family Guy...it can get away with so much! That's what makes it funny.
I would still probably though, have to pick the old school Simpsons episodes. But if you were to ask me to pick a Sunday night episode that was from next week, which I would think is funnier, then it would probably be Family Guy.

I'd say Family guy because I think The Simpsons are played out and they're really stretching for storys and jokes now. This past week's episode with Bart and Nelson being " best friends" seemed like I had seen it so many times before and a Brokeback Mountain reference at the end of it? That movie came last year and they make a reference to it now. I love The Simpsons but I think they've over stayed there welcome which is sad because I'm starting to remember more about the last couple of bad seasons than the good ones.

The first season of Family Guy, little Stewie is great , after that it went all down hill with dumb sex related jokes from Peter. However I still watch because some of the stuff is great. Stewie getting married etc. Over all the Simpsons is funnier. Mr. Burns, Troy McClure, Apu, the Quickie Mart, Kent Brockman, It's like Bedford Falls gone mad(It's A Wonderful Life).

Family Guy is funnier for me in General as it leans to a more mature audience and uses lots of sarcastic/ironic humour which I love
The Simpsons is good to watch but some jokes are very childish and too obvious
However The Simpsons has the 'best' jokes and lines, but the childish ones bring its average down so Family Guy wins

I am a huge fan of The Simpsons. I love Homer.
I do like Family Guy. I like the way Lois says Peter with her accent.

It's like answering who's more peaceful: Jesus or Buddha? I think they are equally fantasitic because they both mock society in a way that only smart people understand.
