I'm going old school with my comparison.

We all know that the Landcruiser from the 90's and up have been marked for the suburbanite. But back in the day from 54 thru 79 the Landcruiser was the Landbruiser! A great 4x4. As good as the Jeep.

As far as I'm concerned both vehicles are equal in their ability to 4x4. TIE
The Jeep CJs did have the optional V8. The Cruiser only had the straight 6. Jeep wins
Looks....TIE (both look like the could crawl inside a volcano and come out w/o a scar)
Ride....Jeep (YJ)
Aftermarket goodies....Jeep

New school comparison....there is no comparison. The Jeep Wrangler is a proven mt wagon, even the new JK. The Landcruiser is no longer made for the weekend warrior. We won't even take 5 and talk about the new FJ. It looks like it was designed by the Queer Eye guys.

So in short I'd say Jeep

this depends on which ones you're talking about. new wrangler's (JK) are supposed to be great performing off road vehicles, where as new landstalkers are just expensive luxury grocery haulers. take it 12 years back though, and it just might be the other way around, athough it is easier to get a 4runner through the trails then a landcruiser. anyway, the two really aren't all that comparable, unless you mean a grand cherokee, then that's another story.

i would have to go with the jeep on this one, Toyota hasn't been in the off road game nearly as many years as jeep has there for there tech (4x4 wise) will be better, and the jeep is smaller and a bit lower as oppose to the toy which stands higher and overall is a bigger truck

I would say the Landcruiser--that is why it costs so much more.
