Yellow journalism. Not exactly like that but a splash of it. It can be if they keep this going. Media supplies what the audience demands. Sad but true some people are hooked with knowing what these stars are up to or what's been goin on with them 24/7. So the media will do this for as long as there are people who wants to know and enjoy this. On the other hand, they are public figures and the media will surely swarm all over them.

Seriously though, I don't think we should be knowing all this. If I was Paris Hilton and I graduated salutatorian in my class I bet the media will definitely be all over me. Too bad I wasn't lol...jeez! I don't like her. I'm just saying that there should be more better issues than spilling your gut for the world to know..tsk!

I guess not.

We don't need to know any about our "stars" except that they are famously talented in whatever they do for instance Amy Winehouse is a fantastic singer. Unfortunately we have become a society where this exploitation makes good headlines and sells magazines. I admit I buy magazines and that and read about them.

"Star secrets" and sex sell, that's the way it is and in a way tat reflects the faults that are present in our society.

Thanks World's Biggest St. Helens Fan, but anyone could claim to have learned something in school, I believe that you are actually suppose to site a reference buddy.

Anyway, I believe that people need to hear of such things. Far too many times, we forget that stars, or anyone in any public arena are people just as we are. The only difference between us and them, are that their jobs cause them to be in a public spotlight. When it is reported that a star has an eating disorder, or they suffer depression, or even that they are racist or believe a certain way, it causes us to view them in a more humane light. I think that the media is usually irresponsible in their handling of such stories. I think that the more that stars are "humanized, the more well adjusted people will become, and our kids won't look up to stars, as if they are uber-human, but see them as people with flaws just as we are.

I think that many "everyday people" who suffer from eating disorders could benefit from knowing that the stars who they kill themselves to look like, are killing themselves to look like that. if we view these things in the proper light, maybe we can stop the vicious cycle.

nope and it's easy not to. for example, i don't even know who amy winehouse is. i just avoid the tabloids, avoid those stupid entertainment shows at 7 o clock, and all-in-all don't care. it's pretty easy to avoid the media if you really want to.
