Find out your pediatrician's guidelines and standard advice, given that you've listed this under newborn and baby, before administering any meds. Doesn't hurt tho to use a vaporizer in the baby's room and maybe a little saline solution in his nostrils to help clear them with the suction bulb (you have one, right?). Make sure he gets plenty of fluids, again to keep the mucous watery and easier to handle. If he's older (not really a newborn), you might try elevating the head of his crib mattress a little, just to make breathing and sleeping easier. Good luck - this is just one of many to come.

humidifier, elevate head of the bed by putting a pillow UNDER the mattress, triaminic yellow.
If there is a cough i make a concoction with honey, apple cider vinegar, cayenne pepper, ginger powder and water and use a medicine syringe to give him about 1/4 tsp of it. Don't put too much cayenne. It helped my son in one day

Depends on how old your son is. If he's old enough for meds give him some decongestant medication. Or try this site.
