When I go out with my friends they are constantly talking about their sexual exploits; which makes me (a virgin) feel out of place. Are there any people still waiting for marriage before losing their virginity?

I don't think you are one in a million. I think there are more people out there that wait but b/c having sex is so mainstream the people who wait are not as vocal b/c they might get made fun of or they don't want to deal with the pressure of people knowing that they are still virgins but I think its a good thing and I think most people, especially women, if they could go back they would wait too.

Hah, yeah there's way too much.
I feel pressured into it alot.
My closest friends that have been in a relationship for about 3 months (sometimes longer or shorter), have already, some are 16 and some not even that. Majority were not when they had lost their virginity.
I get asked like questions about my sex life alot, like my friends assume it's only natural for someone in a relationship over a few months to have already had sex.
I haven't ever told my friends how far I've been with my partner (of 6 1/2 months).. I kind of like it that way.
Whether I have or not is insignificant, it's whether you trust someone enough and truly want to. Pressure is stupid in every possible way.
I was never in it to be waiting for marriage, I know it shows that a person is willing to wait, but I wanted it to mean something real not just that my insecurities about them just wanting sex are wrong.
To be fair though, I have friends who are waiting for marriage, and I completely support them in that. People have different beliefs, & one of mine is that I love my friends for them and their sex lives (or lack of ;] ) shouldn't ever effect that.
If your friends are true, they will respect your decision and not try to force you into anything.

I find it difficult to believe that this question was written by someone 'young.'

The typing + writing + spelling + punctuation is "too good" to be real.

However, and to answer the question: 'Pressure,' if any, would likely come from the perceived sub-cultures (groups of friends) and, I doubt that little would be overt, as such. And as such, I'm sure that there are a few other factors (the media!) from where these 'pressures' (the covert 'belief' or ideas) are perceived to emanate from.

Sash.

YES there is way too much pressure on young people! Teens should be enjoying their teen years, having fun, not worrying about having sex! I lost my virginity when i was seventeen and I REALLY regret not waiting until marriage...but I was stupid, I thought I was "so in love" and that he wasn't lying when he told me he was....but he used me for sex. I wish I'd been smart and kept my childhood, not thrown it all away for some stupid boy!

You should never have sex because of pressures.

You should have sex because you want to have sex. You will know when the time is right when you are with the right person.

Sex has nothing to do with marriage anymore.
It is cute to be a virgin when you marry. But if your partner is not a good lover...you will have a crummy sex life for the rest of your life...without even knowing what you are missing on.

I would be more encline to give my virginity to the guy I plan to marry...but before marrying him...so that I can get out of it if I don't enjoy the sex with him.

here's the thing -you are one in a million and you should stay a virgin-sex is great but there is much more too worry about after having sex(like std's HIV -being the worst -pregancy and simply complicating your life) when you finally have it with your wife it wil lbe wonderful-do not worry about the pressures of it -your friends are the ones not being mature and probbaly half of the will either end up with a std or being a young father-keep true to yourself and do not let anyone ever pressure you into something that your not ready to give up.

I had a nice lesbian rumor about me in high school, so I didn't have the opertunity to date much. it seemed like everyone around me was having sex, and as a teenager who really didn't know any better, I started to base my self worth on my relationships. As soon as I had a boyfriend, I did him. I confused love and sex. They are not the same thing. I regretted it once I met the man that was to be my husband. I am the only woman he has ever been with. I would have loved to have given him that.

love and sex are not the same thing. Your self worth is not based on sex or boyfriends or what experiences you have.

wait. you want to be able to be proud and say you waited. You want to be able to tell your daughter you waited...

and to be honest, teenage sex really, really sucks until you figure it out anyways...

0f course there are others who are waiting. You have every right to be what you feel you ought to be.
Do not succumb to other people's pressure.....that makes you a puppet not a human being.
Quite possibly, too, much (if not all) of the sexual exploits they talk about are just that....talk.
Be true to yourself.

No, if anything there's too much pressure on young people to save themselves for their wedding night, thanks to the fundamentalist christian right. In the US there are now initiatives like the 'silver ring thing' which has a high failure rate!
If anything your friends are probably telling fibs! Sex is nice in a relationship but you don't necessarily have to put it in the confines of marriage.
And what if the person you married was lousy in bed? What could you do about that?
