Hello,
I have a strong feeling that this would be considered illegal, why? because if it was someone would have done it before you bye now and you would have known about it.
**I think in law a dead body cannot be treated like property, you do not own your spouses body, even if you have been married to her most of your life.
**Therefore I think the law wouldnt give you the right or permission to stuff her, take her head off and then mount it.
**Apart from which the smell might not be plesant?
**WRONG!! you wouldnt save any money, it would cost you an arm and a leg to have her stuffed & mounted (thats an aweful lot of stuffing!!). Anyway, how do you know your hat will fit on her head after its been mounted??
No! dont go there mate!! I dont think you would like it in reality!!

You would save a lot on the funeral, but a good taxidermist could cost you thousands. Very few specialize in stuffing humans. You might have to go to the middle east. You could try stuffing her yourself, just don't use StoveTop or anything over the counter. Ask an expert about the proper stuffing. I think all this is legal.

Well if you are certain that your Wife wont mind what happens when the Time comes and you want to Save money, why not buy 3dozen boxes of Paxo and do a D.I.Y Job,don't forget to pour the Hot water in after you have finished packing the Paxo in though.
You must ask her though first what she would prefer ?

Umm... it isn't legal and if it was it would cost waaaayyyy more. Stuffing a pet and having them preserved cost waaaayyy more than a funeral, so a person would cost even more than that.
