YES!!!!! try it for a day. some people like me are so shy, that I am too shy to say anything. i'd really like to try out for the school musical, but my shyness gets in the way of anything with recognition. it is so hard to make friends when you are shy but it is just the way you are. i am trying to overcome my shyness though... extreme shyness can ruin someone's life

Why do you say "shyness is nice"? A form of dismissal? Well, as the lady says, YES it can keep you from doing things. Since your tone is dismissive, I won't go into excrutiating detail. Just take our word for it. It hampers you from trying a lot of things in life you'd like to give a spin.

Shyness kelp me off the dance floor when I was growing up. It was many years after high school that i got out of that. I missed a lot of fun, lots of dates, and many other situations because I was so shy. Boy have I changed.

If shyness is accompanied by a lack of assertiveness, I think so. You have to be able to say what you need to say and do what you need to do to get what you want. For this, you need assertiveness.
