If I were your friend I would wait till the poor girl graduated from high school or turned 18. For pete's sake, let her at least learn something before turning her into a teenage mother with no means of supporting herself when she realizes she made a horrible mistake at the age of 24.

Where are her parents? He should be arrested and put under the jail not just in it. I am 40 with a 17 yo and a 15 yo. I could not imagine being involved with someone their age. He is sick. Needs to be castrated.

He will, but I'm sure she will soon realize her mistake.... when she wakes up at age 36 one morning and sees this wrinkled up old man in bed with her... she will regret it. And honestly, I doubt they make it that long.

Although this must be the new math I heard about... how many times does 40 go into 16....... I don't want to know...ewwwww

I think I've seen him on that Dateline special sting, you know, the one where they lure child predators by setting up dates with an undercover actress pretending she's 13. Anyway, I think it's doomed for failure.

If you think all yahooers are against this I guess you are right your 40 year old is old enough to be her father. this young girl may be wrong but she is young and fatuated with being in love she doesn't realize that in a few years this man will look like her grandpa please help them both and talk to them it is very wrong.

i agree with the answers about statutory rape, to an extent. in maryland, the age of consent is 16, so he wouldn't be committig a crime. and i think in new york it's 14. she is old enough to make her own decisions. he probably does want her because she is young and all that crap, though.

i want to know what is wrong with her. what does she think she is going to get out of him(besides the obvious stable life and job and all that crap that he better have and that would be the only thing that would ever make ME want to marry a 40 year old)?

other than that, who knows? they might end up being the most happily married couple you know.

i don't agree with situations like this, but i'm not going to condemn people because of it. age is nothing but a number.

You say he shouldn't be blamed because it's the girl who's madly in love with him. Well, she's still a child - he's the adult and he should know better.
At 40 he can hardly be wanting her for her mind.

Well, that's quite a hectic one. It's pretty wild. I'd accept it if they were infatuated with each other, but not married.
