whatever they dont know yet.
i pressume that for an alien species be able to get here, would need them to be far more advanced that ours.
so with that saying i think they'll gasp:
"LOOK, FOR ALL THE 1 MILLION PLANETS WE'VE SEEN,
AT LAST WE'VE FOUND UNCIVILIZED WALKING CREATURES"

They would learn that we greedy, needy and proud. We would be like ants in their little science experiments. They wouldn’t bother to make peace with us because we never keep our word. They wouldn’t bring us to their planet because they can see we readily destroy our own world. They wouldn’t trust us at all! And maybe, just maybe, they would learn that we are food and it's easy to herd us like sheep. They would learn we are very fat and tasty and that we have all kinds of good recipes for BBQ Chicken they can use to cook us with. Let’s just hope they never find us.

The variety of excuses offered for primitive warfare. Oh... and greed, though if they are really intelligent, they probably couldn't understand why it is that we seem to think selling out the future in order to make a short term profit makes a lot of sense.

That we're a petty race which doesn't get along with itself and which goes out of its way to create misery and hardship. Basically a bunch of losers with a lot to learn about living together!

I don't remember the exact phrase commedian George Carlin used, but the basic implication of the statement that he made was that if there is indeed extraterrestrial life, they haven't made contact with us because they've learned that we don't play well with others. :)
