No, but he's a right foul jerk for going onto national television and viciously railing against a fellow movie star for taking a prescription for Postpartum Depression.
He DID later apologize, but I think, and this is purely speculation on my part, it was an obvious PR stunt, a feeble attempt to win back the public support he'd lost after metaphorically cramming his foot into his mouth and clear down his throat in front of the entire world.

Evil; no. He seems to have found a way of life that affords him peace, comfort, support, and guidance. Isn't that all any of us wants in an ideology? As long as he doesn't hurt Brooke Shields' feelings anymore, let him be.

He is a lesser evil than this little known Zero Cool who does not have the moral guts to come out with her real identity and does all the immoral activities under veil of anonymity. The Truth apart, such rascals have no ethical value to point finger at others who themselves are not clear at heart and do all sorts of mischief and damage of wide dimension. Such people brag that they are champions of atheism. But in reality they are cowards at heart and use atheism to cover their incapacity to go deep into a matter.

Tom Cruise is a celebrity for the western society, he can not be evil just because he has some personal inclination for Scientology. His views are much more polished than that of many visitors to the Yahoo Answers who pretend to be intellectuals and assert by acquiring false points for self- assessed 'Best Answers' and quantifying their intellectual superiority by self-deception and foul means like ZERO COOL.
