i think in their mind this is a harmless safe way of exploring feelings they are to scared to act upon in a real situation. maybe its just experimentation

Let me propose this possible answer. Straight men never knowingly do anything that may ruin their sexual chances with women so either these guys are gay or they think woman will find this attractive. This last point is rather complicated to explain but in the same way the fashionable shape for women is big breasts but a boyish figure every wear else, so some women want a penis attached to an unmanly man. No i don't understand it either but at least you are still at high school I'm old enough to have seen it change and now you see the women who encouraged all this complaining they cant find 'real men'.

In my generation, at 16 I certainly did not know much about girls, and those who said they did were lying. Most certainly, times have changed for such a topic to be raised by someone so young and a I am not sure if that is a good thing. Also this trend to call themselves 'gay'. That is to avoid saying that you like to put your dick up someone's bum which suddenly does not sound so attractive and certainly would not have been something normal boys would admit to wanting to do. I think previous answers are right when they say these guys are just taking the piss out of homosexuals (I refuse to call them 'gay') as they recognise them for the perverts that they are.

hum....perhaps they are just so secure on who they are that they are just having fun...I wouldn't see real gays guys makin' a big fuss for attention in the High School setting if ya know what I mean..They could be Bi-sexual like I am and I did do some of those things because I could get away with it. I was usually just "testing" the waters to see if anyone got an attitude over it and if they did I could say, c'mon dude- you know were just playing.....Thing is, nobody caught an attitude so I was an "out" Bi-sexual, football player , track player kinda guy. I do think people always thought I was just kidding but I wasn't...BIG LOVE...Kevin

I just realised after the following happened that this is what boys do, like a hobby:
I was in the stockroom where I work and another guy was already there, another came in and siad to him 'when are you going to suck my ****?'. I made a funny face to myself while I was getting the item I wanted off the shelf. He caught a look at me doing that and said 'It's OK, my name, I 'm not saying it to you'. I said to him ' I think that's the worrying part'. Not obviously because I thought it would be OK to say it to me but because they thought it was completetly normal. Like they said these kinds of things all the time. I think it is thier way of amking fun of the whole thing but not in a malicious way because they are all friends with the bisexual girl and boy who also work there.
I have realised after going to school with many boys they are always touching each other because they are sexually frustrated but not in a way that says they are gay, just desperate because there are no girls there.
If a girl so much as brushed my hand I would slap her, I don't like girls even hugging me (even if I had died!) Don't know why boys who are meant to be more conscious of appearing in a certain way this would allow it!

i think thats kind of wrong if they are lying and doing it just for fun, because some people have so much trouble with their sexuality, and to have something like that taken the mick out of.
But at the end of the day, if its non stop, maybe they just feel comfortable with all this, and maybe they are deep down, who knows, but 50% of what you say when you are joking is the truth, so maybe they are doing it as a joke to gauge other peoples reactions before they become serious about it...

Sounds very childish to me, perhaps if you took them seriously they might back off. You may even see a few of them in their true colours (anti-gay)! They might realize that the girl's actually think they are gay, I do think it's a wind up.
I really do think they are taking the mick best not to take any notice, I don't think the girls think it's that funny.

Some are serious, some are not. Where I earned my undergrad degree there was a high gay and lesbian percentage with most open. No one cared.
I take the attitude that it is no one's business if they are doing it or not.

How could you POSSIBLY know they're faking? Did you watch them 24 hours a day and verify they never kiss or have sex?
Btw, not kissing or not having sex doesn't prove anything. Some people want to wait. Only they can determine if they're gay or not. If they're faking, why is it your business? I guess you could say they're in reverse denial. Still, not your concern though.
Nobody owns homosexuality. And nobody is the King of determining who is gay and who is not gay.

Actualy it doesn't surprise me. The guys at my school joke around sometimes but not as far as the guys in the school your at. Maybe they do and I just don't see it. Ignore it and wait for them to come out, if they are actualy gay of corse.

you know what, I REALLY LIKE that trend
women have been able to tease each other like that forever
even for my generation, 43, men are NOT supposed to even touch each other
Also, gay folks have SO much stigma and prejudice to deal with, if we can absorb some of it for them its a good thing. The mean judging people then have to hate gays AND people pretending to be gay too. Let's keep em wondering and mess wit em some more.
