dont be such a stingy sod, help the needy, give a tramp a quid or two. dont have such a self- indulgent time and do something that will really be worthy of celebrating christmas such as a 10 quid donation to the help the children fund rather than another boxing day hangover.

frasier, your attitude stinks. i can only hope that you never find yourself on the wrong end of the social ladder. you are the kind of hedonistic self serving person that gloats over the unfortunate and for that you are less than human.

Well it is clear I am not from England or I would understand some of your slang. I will tell you what I am doing this holiday season. It is pretty much like any other day. 1. I have 7 soldiers in Iraq I write letters to 5 x's a week. Then every other week I ship them homemade treats and anything else like: socks, envelopes whatever. 2 weeks ago I shipped over 100 stuffed animals to one of my soldiers. He is in Afghanistan and he is taking them to hospitalized orphans. Then of course I will be working as usual days at a local charity thrift store that funds among other things Habitat for Humanity. As for Christmas eve and day I will be at my father-in-laws home taking care of him. He has terminal cancer and I am taking over so his care-givers can have the holidays at home. So that's my plans this month. Next month will be about the same. What Are You Doing?

I have purchased gifts from Oxfam Unwrapped- I buy the things and they send them to where there is need. The person my end- mum dad brother etc, gets a card to say what I have done! I bought these things for needy people- Some fishing nets, 2 textbooks, 100 school meals, some animal fertilizer and 25 trees to be planted to stop soil erosion and provide fruit. I donated £15 to the Salvation Army and I also bought Christmas cards and gift tags from the Cats Protection Society!

I've already made two donations for Christmas, one to McMillan nurses in memory of my mom and one to Guide Dogs for the Blind in support of a friend who's blind and has just been given his first guide dog, tomorrow when I'm out shopping I'll buy a Big Issue and give the guy an extra few quid and when the Salvation Army band and choir are at our local supermarket next week I'll give them a few quid too, I'm lucky to have what I have and always think of others at this time of year.

I have already been involved in a fund raiser for our corporate ELF fund, shopped for a family with six kids aged 3-17, whom I have never met. I have donated money to the troops in Iraq and I have spent time at a local Salvation Army donation kettle garnering donations. It has been very satisfying for me

I have identified some people who would be deeply offended by being refered as 'others'. I have therefore made this xmas the happiest time of their lives by completely ignoring both them and their plight.
They now feel as 'lucky' as me. They are happy about this but that is because they are deluded and probably have mental health problems. They don't know....I don't tell them...I don't get a cheap thrill by pretending to be something I am not....and they don't get patronised or belittled as a sacrifice to my ego!!!
Happy Xmas!!!!!!!

always do consider the less fortunate as this is the time of year when we all should care about others less fortunate than ourselves
