sony ericssons are a bit different to many other phones. It is a code that you type in but is different to nokia etc. Your service provider should give you the code but some of them can take quite a bit of dosh for it. (virgin mobile provides your unlock code for free). Alternatively take it to your local mobile unlocking shop it may be cheaper that way

Just about all cellular phones can be unlocked with a code. Some shops are available in some cities or online to provide the codes themselves or service to unlock the phone.

Problem is finding the code for a particular phone.

Try performing a search for Unlocking phone codes and just sort through the information you think you can rely upon to unlock your phone.

Here's a bonus:
After your phone subscription ends or is about to end, call the phone company and ASK for the code. You already fulfilled your services and you are ENTITLED to the unlock code!! I've done it for my cell phones after my subscription ended!

You should be able to. Is it your keys that are locked, or is it a security lock? I think usually for secuirty locks it's either the last 4 digits of your social security number, your birthday(i think just month and day, but maybe year too), or your home phone number, so maybe try those? I know mine was the last 4 digits of my social security number but that was going through sprint, if its a pay as you go phone rather than a plan, usually you either have to enter one the first time you lock your phone or its the last 4 digits of your cell phone number, so maybe try those

Well I did it ahwile ago with an old nokia, I entered some code into where you would normally enter numbers to dial and it worked. Maybe modern phones are different, but I'm sure it's possible.
