Well, I live in Tennessee....and I think it is a pretty big symbol of our country. You won't find many states that have more patriotic people that love their family, community, and country more than here. I live in a small, rural community in the mountains of East TN, so I always see the "redneck" or "hillbilly" stereotypes that people label us with, but it isnt true in all cases. I am convinced that I live in the most beautiful place in the world, and since I have traveled many places over the globe, I feel like I can back myself up. Where else can you go that you have mountains and panoramic scenic views on one end of the state and have flat, beautiful landscape on the other? Not many! Plus, Johnny Cash is from here. nuff said. ;)

There are two candidates for the greatest influence. New York, due to the number and popularity of TV shows from New York City, and California, for the same reason. Both influence the rest of the nation extensively. Neither state "describes" America -- the nation is much too diverse for any one state to be described as "typical" of America.

There NO place I would Vacation in all the world than America. I have seen so much, but, have yet to see it all.

I'd say california, New York, or Texas. I moved from America to Canada and most of my friends think california stands for U.S although I've heard many people think Americans have acsents like the ones people have in Texas but all at the same time New York has the statue of Liberty and is known to welcome. It depends on who is beliving in it.
