Like others said. Practice. However, as for form, I like to rotate the ball and flick it in an arc with my wrist for short to mid range shots and jump when its farther out. Most people have different shooting styles..if you shooting straight enough..I wouldn't change your shooting style. For layups, dribble and aim for the square on the backboard.
I would also have a shooting contest with someone you know who is good. Competition can spur excellence. Play horse or around the world with a seasoned shooter. That's how I became good.

Rick Mount's prescription to become an All American is to shoot 500 jump shots a day starting at age 14 or 15. It also might be beneficial to learn some visulisation techniques......

best way is with a partner. let them become a defender. with this you will get used to shooting under pressure. also practice shooting when you are really tired. emulate as much of the game situation as you can. dont forget the correct form and fundamentals

work on yur form and when u should keep that form even when u dont have the ball in yur hands
my form is great if yur a right hander then put yur right hand on the lower middle of the ball and yur left on the side. yur left hand should only guide u on where the ball should go and yur right hand u should be the only one moving, put out all of yur power onto yur right hand and yur thumb on yur right hand should be spreaded out seeing some light and keep the ball a little bit of yur side on the right never in front of yur eye.
