Well that depends somtimes it by size or thickness of envelope other than this its by weight,you can get the cost scales from your local post office and the weigh them yourself or just take you envelope to post office they will weigh and tell you stamp needed

visit your local USPS office for the correct box/tube. google USPS and then put in your zip- code. a SASE (Self Addressed Stamped Envelope) is just that an envelope with your address printed on it and the correct Postage (stamps). the USPS will print out the correct label for postage.

Or you can just go to the post office and they weigh it for you and you pay them the amount they ask....they stamp it and it's off.

another trick question? its always the amount at the moment of mail (39cents now) up to 1 ounce...if you think you need more weigh it at post office..
