Recycling one ton (2000 pounds) of paper saves 17 trees, 380 gallons of oil, and 7000 gallons of water.

Recycling a stack of newspapers 3 feet high can save one tree.

And you can increase that amount by buying paper products made from recycled materials.

you do not keep timber by using recycling paper. in element of truth, pulp timber is grown as a crop and the crop will be harvested. If the decision for for pulp timber declines using recycling, then new timber is only no longer planted. really the farmer will convert his field to some different crop. perchance wheat perchance corn, perchance soy beens. Recycling paper to keep timber makes as a lot experience as recycling bread to keep wheat.

won't work - trees are GROWN for paper if need drops they will just plant less and wait longer to harvest

99% of the paper we use ( non-recycled ) comes from tree farming or wood waste from lumber - to 'save a tree' you would need to use less lumber and even 80% of that is farmed ( they really cut very little 'old growth' it just gets lots of attention when they do )

if you really care about saving trees, just recycle and let others count the trees you save.

I am sure that you recycling will save some trees but I am not sure how many, but does it really matter?

Who cares? It's just one more hippie we gotta unchain or pry down from tree. Remember that hippie that climbed a tree a few years back? I would have cut down a tree a day to get her down. "Are you coming down yet? No?" Buzzzzz. Eventually, she would have come down...then I would have cut down the tree she was staying in...and burned it...and then pissed on the ashes. Damn, tree huggers.

Well, how much does the tree weigh? I would say probably about 100 lbs.
