then do you believe all humans should be forced to procreate?

I mean if gays can't chose to opt out, should anyone? If the survival of the human species is at stake, shouldn't eveyone physically able to father/mother children do so?

Well, I don't think that homosexuality is wrong. However, the fact that homosexual couples are unable to naturally procreate is a very fundamental difference between homosexual and heterosexual couples. This difference is so fundamental, IMHO, that I believe the concept of homosexual and heterosexual unions should be considered distinct.

Should homosexual couples enjoy the same legal protections and benefits as heterosexual ones? Of course. However, because the fundamental survival of our species relies on heterosexual couples reproducing, I don't think it unreasonable to have a different word for the union. In short, Heterosexual couples get married. Homosexual couples have domestic partners.

Given that one of the major problems facing our ever shrinking world is overpopulation, perhaps homosexuality is natures way of helping keep things in balance.

Sigh...so much ignorance, so little time.

The matter of homosexuality being anti-procreation is not about whether we should allow it. It is merely one point in defeating the idiotic argument that homosexuality is genetic. Homosexuals can't procreate, so it can't be genetic. You can still engage in that behavior for all I care, just don't try excuse it on your genes.

I believe in freedom. You have the freedom to choose to engage in homosexuality, but that does not mean that society should reward or encourge that behavior. You have the freedom to drink yourself into a drunken stupor too, but I do not believe that society should reward or encourage that behavior either.

Basically it comes down to this: you are free to make your own decisions. Just be man enough to take responsibility for your own actions and stop blaming it on your genes, or society, or some other lame excuse. And if the majority of society disagrees with your behavior, then either change your behavior, or deal with it.

I know a lot of "good" Christian woman that like sodomy too. The survival of the human species is NOT at stake. Perhaps it was in biblical times?!

The Bible was written a long time ago and no one knows for sure the correct translations of everything in it.

Though shall not judge is in there somewhere though i believe!

Homosexuality is wrong because it's against the ways of God and 2 men together is unnatural and perverted.

There are PLENTY of humans on the planet, so we REALLY don't need anymore children, in my opinion.

So procreation is NOT the issue here.

It's amazing how many people know what God said. Why is it acceptable that someone thousands of years ago can have claimed to have spoken with God, when today that person would be considered a lunatic?
The God I believe in condemns none of his children. The God I believe in sets each of his children on a path in life that leads them home. Believe it or not, homosexuality is a path chosen by God from some of his children.

Is your question really about being homosexual or not wanting to have children? I think you are saying that people are gay because they don't want to have children?

I am really not sure what your question is here?

If you want to be gay or just don't want to extend your genetic pool .. I don't think your decision will put the human species at risk!

The human race is not in danger of going extinct. You forget about the millions of married heterosexual couples around the world that have no plans on having children.

many animals (humans included) have certain elements that exhibit homosexual behaviors. the survival of the species is NOT dependent upon 7% of the population...

furthermore, what of heterosexual couples who choose not to "procreate"? should we condemn them as well?

didn't think so....

Procreation has nothing to do with why people think homosexuality is wrong. They think it's wrong because their organized religion tells them it's wrong and it is one of the few things coming from the Church that they choose to listen to.

The population is out of control. In China they're penalized for having more than one child per couple. Gays should be given financial rewards for NOT procreating.
