Well for me personally, it hit me that I was bi in jr.high... I realized that I wasn't just noticing the girl for her cute skirt I was noticing how cute she looked in her cute skirt lol.

**Silverbirch... can you explain to me how someone who talk and can't write is going to be able to tell you that they find someone of the same sex attractive? Do you even think they'd care? Personally I think babies, homosexual or not, only care about getting changed and getting fed!

DeeDeeDee, you obviously have NO IDEA what you are talking about so how about only answering questions you have at least some knowledge about.**

No people are not born gay. One must decide for themselves if they are gay or not. To be able to say "I was born that way" relives that person of the responsibility of choice. I distinctly remember the day that I decided I was not gay and that I was a heterosexual. One can not be "whatever"sexual unless you are having physical intercourse with that gender. Shouldn't Catholic priests be considered Asexual instead of hetero/homosexual?

If you want to argue "feelings/tendencies" then I put forth the evidence that there are many men that I care deeply for and love and would put my life on the line for them. They are and were the men I served with in the Army, as a volunteer fire fighter, and friends I have had throughout my life. Any emotion you can describe that you have for your same gender I have had for those listed above. I just choose not to have sex with them. Sex in and of itself is a choice. You must decide to separate your clothes from your body and provide the opportunity for sex to happen. It is possible to go from birth to death as a virgin. It is not like being born as a man, woman, black, white, olive, red etc...

If you wish to discuss Orientation then you must understand that it also implies choice. I orient myself in the direction I want to go. To orient a map to the ground you have to turn it to match the landscape.

If one is "born" gay then how do you explain those who choose to no longer be gay when that lifestyle does not fill the hole they were hoping that it would?

Lastly, if you are born gay, and thus not in control of your own life, what about those who are born as child molesters, or rapists? If one must accept that one can be born with a specific sexual orientation, then all sexual orientation must also be accepted and we better start giving all sexual predators clemency and start wiping out the sex offender program and lists and all that that entails. This also applies to drug and alcohol abuse and any other habit forming vice.

You can't have an argument work for you so that you can feel beter about your choices and condemn others by using the same one. All the name calling in the world will not change facts.

"Just found out" can mean that she may have always felt different but didn't know why... but something happened that opened her eyes and made her understand. Its not an uncommon situation and that's how you end up with people coming out so late in life that they're in marriages or have children (or grandchildren!).

Its also in vogue to be a lesbian or a bisexual woman for the time being. Depending on how you look at it, this is either promoting women to experiment in areas they might otherwise have avoided... or its giving women the freedom to be who they were born to be.

I'm a lesbian and, to be honest, I'm wary of women who say they're bi. Most of my experiences with bi women is that, at most, they're bi-curious and, when push comes to shove, they run back to their heterosexual lives and brandish their homosexual experience like a merit badge. I'm not saying its true for everyone... and I hate to admit a prejudice... but this is how it is.

Born that way!

Brainwashing and conditioning make alot of people fight the truth within them for years. This causes much unneeded pain and ruins lives.

The quicker a person comes to grips with who they are the better off they are. I am much happier today than I have been in a long time.

Are you born straight?

And also, there are true bisexuals out there, and quite frankly it sucks to be one because you get discrimination from both communities.

You're born the way you are: straight, gay, or bi.
You don't turn it.

jeez, you got a load of ignorant christian responses here. it's mot a choice, it is part of your character. you are born that way.

I think it's a preference. It's something that can change but you don't have total control over it. Kind of like music. You can't control what type of music you like and don't like, but it can change with time.
