The internet is growing leaps and bounds. If folks want the news, they could just visit the internet, which has as much credibility as all newspapers, with the exception of The New York Times, the only respectable newspaper in the country. Yet for local and regional news, the internet is a good source. Also newspapers are losing a lot of advertisement to the internet. And folks are now shopping more on line than ever before because web sites have developed very sophisticated security measures, and web stores don't have to pay the same rent as brick and mortar stores so web stores could charge less and still make a good profit. The ones who are finding creative solutions are the ones looking to work hand in hand with the internet. Some daily newspapers now allow web visitors to comment on news articles. This interactivity is the wave of the future. Eventually, the internet and TV will also work hand in hand. The internet is the still growing and the possibilities it offers haven't yet be imagined.

They are telling the truth. Sort of. All traditional media is suffering from internetitis. Newspaper and magazine circulation, as have the rating for broadcast television programs across the board. As the internet offers us alternative ways for people to receive their news/entertainment the tradition media suffers. Are they FAILING! Probably some of the smaller ones. My guess tho is that the major ones are just complaining because their profit margin is lower. When corporations, including media corporations, claim they're losing money they are just saying that instead of making $25 million dollars last year, lets say, they made $20 million.

I hope that helps.

Same as the major news networks, they are failing because they don't tell the truth & fail to get their facts from legitimate sources. Intelligent people now get their news elsewhere.
