I would advise you to go clubbing so you can experience the vibrations of the dancehall music and culture because it is simply fabulous. The dances are crazy, the girls can dance the guys can dance so you can learn several of new moves to go back home with :).
The main tourists areas are on the North Coast, the beaches are really good. Negril and Ocho Rios are the most popular destination. I think Point Village Hotel is a nice hotel to stay at because there is a warm and welcoming atmosphere there. Plus they have a wonderful Jamaican cuisine, and did I mention, Jamaican food is amazing, some thing you should eat while in Jamaica are Jerk chicken, jerk pork or anything else that's jerked, Rice and peas is a Jamaican Favorite and you should not leave without trying the curry, whether chicken or mutton.
Oh yea, Dolphin's Cove is great. You get to swim with the dolphins etc. You can visit Bob Marley museum in Kingston, Island Village and Dunn's River Falls in Ocho Rios, Green Grotto's cave is cool too. If you still want to check out some hot spots to go you can search the net for Jamaica Tourist Board and that site should give you an outline of the popular and most exquisite destinations in Jamaica.

1. Montego Bay beaches
2. Negril and Ocho Rios
3. Charter boats
4. If you can get to Kingston, the capital, there's probably a lot of history there.
5. Watching the Jamaican divers jump off very high bridges or cliffs into the ocean, paying them to go higher each time.
