he is mad because the word is getting around and others who lost $ being employed "there" started talking as well. Do I have the "Rights" to speak freely and honestly or am I heading to court?

unless you signed a confidentiality agreement of some kind, you should be protectedunder free speech laws. Unless you're not telling the truth, or you can't prove you're telling the truth, and that could be slander.

If your comments are unfounded and you are just a bitter ex-employee, he could sue for slander. If you are being truthful about shady business practices, it's unlikely he will push the issue.
