This is the hardest question i've ask, it brings goose bump. I don't like it, so how do we answer this to our selves? Thank you who gave all you had, wish you didn't have too.

Personally I couldn't say that. It would be hard for me to tell some kid that whose father was killed trying to install democracy in some other country. His dad swore to uphold and protect the Constitution of the United States, not some other country.

You ask if I feel "good", no I do not. Do I feel grateful, YES! We have an all volunteer armed forces in our country today. I am so glad that we have that so people that are against the war can stay home and speak their minds about it without repercussion.

A lot of prior service members disagree with our position, but a lot agree with what we do in the military. They are not brainwashed, coerced or mistreated. They just go out and do what they were trained to do so our country can be what it is today.

Is it worth it? That is a question for you to answer for yourself. No one else can do that for you. But when you answer, think hard about what you have and the way you live in this country to be able to speak your mind so freely. It has come at a heavy price over the years.

There is no monetary value that you could put on what these brave patriots do for YOU. They do it from the heart. They do it for YOU. They do it for their family.

Keep arguing, disagreeing, complaining and nitpicking things. That is why they do what they do at any cost.

Amazing though if you would have the troops home more would die from accidents, dui's, car wrecks due to lack of sleep, too much speed or just error.

Amazingly almost all for the troops there actually belive in their mission, they are all volenteers too not a single one had a gun put to his/her head and forced to go its not the military or go to jail days anymore.

Recruiting is 100% re-enlistments are at a amazing level.

And we lost more personnel on d day or at Iwo Jima in 15 minutes than we have lost in almost 4 years

there are more murders in our major cities every month than the troops lose is a country the sice of California.

Every death isn't a good thing, but to accomplish a goal sometimes ppl will die and if they were allowed just to fight a war many less would die when you don;t have to be actually shot directly at before youc an return fire, that rule needs changed they can't fire if the shots are near only if they are directly under fire themselves

don't sense shallow.. you're youthful and that is enormously a lot the way it truly is. you're the middle of your universe in some ideas. As you receives older there will be a million belongings you imagine are worth death for. i'd die to guard my little ones and husband yet i'd also die to guard injustice more often than not that's centred at all people. human beings ought to have different lists of the issues that they'd die for. you receives to some extent the position you'll locate something worth death for.

I don't know... ask the people freed from Nazi occupation and concentration camps. Don't forget, Saddam and Hitler were different only in the time frame of their power. After what he did to the Kurds, do you think he would hesitate to send Jews to a gas chamber?

YOU JOIN THE MILITARY TO FIGHT. IF YOU DIE IN THE PROCESS IT'S A CHANCE THAT YOU TOOK. IF YOU DIE TO PROTECT THE FREEDOMS OF OTHERS THEN IT WAS WORTH IT. THE SELFLESS ACT OF A SOLDIER FALLEN IN BATTLE MAY BE THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN WINNING AND LOSING A WAR. BEING FREE OR UNDER THE RULE OF AN EXTREMIST LOOKING TO CUT YOUR HEAD OFF WITH A KITCHEN KNIFE. WAS IT WORTH IT YESIT WAS.

Its one of the reasons why the republicans make sure we have a plentiful numbers of the poor, so the supply of cannon fodder is not interrupted. I think we should reinstate a draft lottery but do it this time by income level, the higher the income the higher your group in the lottery. Make the deciders in the society enjoy the consequences of their actions in personal terms.

George W. Bush used his daddy's influence to make sure he saw no combat in Viet Nam. He and many other right-wing, conservative Republicans now try to act tough about the war but they are all yellow-bellied, chicken-sh*t, cowards with George W. Bush being the biggest one of them all. They have no problem seeing other people spill their blood as long as no one from their families are doing the spilling. It's sad that our commander-in-chief is such a piece of crap.
