I am looking to buy a new lap top, main use to edit videos. I want to spend about £1000. Could you recomend what spec would be good for windows media player? Sound/Graphics card? What type of processor? And where to buy?

Buy mine. I paid £400. You have more money than sense. It's a buyers market at the moment.

Take a look at Dell or alienware and just buy the best you can afford. Would suggest at least 1Gb of memory, large harddrive and dual core processor. Alienware PCs are designed for gaming so should be powerful enough for video editing

You could buy the same lap top in Liverpool off some spotty scroat with a base ball cap on and some tracksuit bottoms for a fiver.

sorry but that is not possible in a laptop as the video card is normally part of the motherboard and i have never herd of a bare bones laptop desktops yes but laptops no
