there's not a specific location that's great for catering co.
good places would be in big cities, especially cities that are home to people with lots of money. the more money, the more parties(get to get-togethers, events, etc). the more parties, the more food needed! and if they need food, they'll call you!
also, in a big city, there's lots of people; this means more available clients!
the one thing you wouldn't want to do is start one in a small town where not that many people would need a caterer.

Preferrably in a big city like NY, LA, Chicago, or New Orleans. But you can make it in a small town if you are a good cook and you get people raving for your food.
