This is how it happened. A year ago i used to be very honest with people, brutaly honest sometimes. Then i met this girl and well i've never had to many female friends before, so after a while she would hang out more and more with the same circle of friends that i did and one night at this party she asked me how she looked in the jeans she was wearing, well she didn't look very good because she was a bit over weight from having a kid and her strech marks were hanging out of her pants, so i said "well your pants are way to tight for your weight and it makes your belly hang over your belt and everyone can see your strech marks" right then and there she started to cry and i had no clue at the time what i had done, after the party one of my friends came up to me and said that i couldn't talk to chicks like i talk to the guys because women just can't handle the truth, so thats how it started now i find it hard to stop lying.

fudging the truth to protect someone's feelings is generally ok. But you can also be honest and spare people's feelings. Like with the example you gave, saying something more along the lines of "maybe they're not the right cut for you" and then give her an example of something she had worn recently that you DID think she looked good in, would have been a gentler way to tell her she wasn't ready for her pre-pregnancy jeans quite yet.

A compulsive liar will lie when there is little or no reason to. If a person asks for your opinion, first double-check with them as to whether or not they want your honest opinion. If your response could evoke an adverse reaction, be discreet (don't announce so everybody can hear), and balance it with something positive, like "those jeans are a really good cut, and they compliment your figure. The shirt you're wearing is also good, but together, the combination doesn't work because it doesn't seem to provide the coverage."
Other than that, white lies are okay too. To quote Ghostbusters, "When sombody asks if you're a God, you say YES!!" The same goes for any female. If she asks how she looks, the answer is "beautiful," unless you have a close relationship with her.

i think it is a reaction to you feeling bad for hurting her feelings. Get a girlfriend, or mmet someone knew be honest with them. not brutally honest, but honest. If your relationship goes well, then you might be cured of your lying. If you do not stop, seek counseling or look up ways to help yourself.
compulsive liars find it easier to lie than tell the truth, they often prefer lying. does this sound like you?

I agree with thirty-two-characters,some people just can't afford more clothes when they gain weight and she may have been over joyed to once again fit into her pre-pregnancy jeans and top.
as far as honesty,unfortunately we are all forced to tell white lies not to hurt peoples feelings,Compulsive?Do you lie for no reason at all.
