Maybe you're mistaking it for Ride or Slowdive? both were acclaimed indie bands from the early 90's.

Yes! I remember Drive touring the Uk in the very early 90s supporting Mega City 4. Midway Still also played. I had a 12" Ep of theirs, though it wasn't up to much... Enjoyed them live though... Just before grunge became massive...
