Help we are all fighting here. Some believe it's behavior like "his behavior is so bad" and some believe it's "he got away with it". Does anyone know the time frame of when it was behavior started to be the meaning???

I thought "off the hook" meant "Hot, like "Rockin" of lately. Before that it meant that "he got away with it"
