First make sure you have put the coals in as the instructions tell you to, as this will make the fire burn unevenly.
If you are still in any dought dont use it and get it checked by a corgi registered engineer. Just a small point check his corgi ID card, on the back of the card it will tell you what he is registered to do, if gas fires are not on his card look for someone else.

Most probably the burner gas jets are a bit blocked with fluff. As the gas fire draws in air it also draws in dust which accumaltes as fluff. Take the coals off the fire and clean the burner jets (Which should be visible) with a vacuum cleaner nozzle.

Clean those tiny gas holes (orvices)in the burner tube. Sounds like "raw" gas propably is coming out also. Blow out all the holes and run a needle/wire in each hole---check the air / fuel adjustment afterwards when lit. Merry Christmas.

Get this checked out by a corgi registered plumber as you don't want any leaking carbon monoxide in your house or gas problems as it isn't safe.
lt might not be cheap but ring someone that dosen't charge call out fee and they'll give you advice and detect your problem.

As well as getting it checked - do you still have the leaflet that tells you how to arrange the coals? Most have to be put on in a certain way (you can't just pile them on).

Leave your windows open, could be carbon monoxide in the air. Are you getting headaches and feeling tired? Get fire checked out.

I am confused. How come everybody else seems to know what
you are talking about? Are you referring to a BBQ that is outside?
Your burners probably need replacing.
