Some easy items that I have made for Christmas presents are... *Bird Houses- Go to your local home improvement store and buy 4-6 or 8" depending on the size you want, clay pots with the saucer. This is usually less than $2.00 for each. With a masonary hole saw cut a hole in the side of the pot, then using a masony bit small, but large enough for twine to go through, drill four holes on the saucer evenly spaced like you have foour corners of a box. Using twine have 4 pieces long in length, tie a knot in one end and place the pot at the knot(like a macrame plant hanger), then place the saucer on top or the pot like a roof and thread the twine through the holes. Make sure you bring the 4 pieces back together and tie a loop for hanging. You can get creative with the knots in the twine or just a simple hanging knot. You can also be creative with painting the pots as well. TOTAL COST $3. each depending on size of pot * Hanging Bird bath- Using just a clay saucer drill holes and run twine or wire through. The saucer sides are a good place for drilling the hole with this one. I made these using 16" clay saucers that were about TOTAL COST $6.00 each * Shell wind chime- Your local 99cent or dollar store should have bags of shells or if you live near the beach that is even better. For the top use a larger shell and drill a hole in the top. Run your twine, wire or fishing line through the hole in the bottom of the pot(now the top)creating a loop for hanging and knot so it will not go through. Make sure you have at least 5-6 pieces running down. drill small holes in the shells and thread through the hanging twine/wire/line. What I found works best is a big shell on one the ecnter string then smaller shells about 3" apart along the outside strings. TOTAL COST $3.00 each *Candle holder- From your dollar store you can buy glass jars or vases. Using glass paints paint a scene on the outside of the glass. I have found the stained glass paints work great for this because the light can shine through the paints. Buy dollar store candles and place inside. TOTAL COST $2.00 each *Cappuccino or hot cocoa in a jar- Again from your dollar store buy jars with lids. You can paint the outside or not. With the lid I used a small amount of batting and covered with a piece of faux suede and guel gunned it in place. Using ribbon I trimmed the edge. I then painted a scen on the glass of a steaming cup of cocoa and then painted the words Hot Cocoa.I then filles the jars TOTAL COST $2.00 each Have Fun and I hope some of these help you out!

No sew fleece blankets! You can customize them for the recipient, and can make one or two in an evening!

FYI, if you don't have the tools shown in the link, you can simply use scissors and a ruler!
