Half an inch under your chin is a good length for a freestyle board it maybe a bit short if you are planning on riding powder, but if you are just starting off it souneds ok. The main problem you might have is that it might be too wide for you, mens boards are wider than womens boards due to men generally having larger feet. Also its not all about lenght etc different boards suit different styles of riding and more important different levels of riding. If you buy a board too advanced for you you will find it a nightmare to ride. Im not sure what board you have but i very much doubt you will be able to break it as most current boards are very hard to break, but from what you have written i would advise you to sell it and go to a shop a get a girls board that suits your level of riding, your height ,weight and style of fiding you want to do. Rather than settling for a board that is a bit cheaper to buy but won't suit you so much.

no way. that board should work just fine for you. people shouldn't measure a board by their chin anyways. you should have no problem getting the hang of that board. there is no need to go buy a new board if you have that one. just try it out first, and if you really don't like it, then start looking for another. For junior and even almost all regular boards, there really is no difference in width between boys and girls. so you dont have to worry about that.

also, you wont break the board so you dont have to worry about that.
