The concept of control implies complete and direct power over something. It is the ability to cause a definite and immediate result every time through the exertion of your will. Control is limited in span. We can only exert control over a limited number of things for a limited amount of time because it requires a great deal of focus and vigilance to exercise control. This is why we cannot really ‘control’ people. Control is mainly about having POWER over something or someone.
Influence is the ability to cause a change in direction or focus by subtle application of energy. It is not about forcing someone to do something. It is about learning to bring people in alignment with you by drawing them willingly into your way. If control is about power, influence is about AUTHORITY.

I don't believe so.
People are always being influenced by other people with whom they interact. We observe other people's actions and reactions and determine which activities work and which ones don't. Usually, the people who influence us the most do so in a passive manner. They lead by example.
However, if someone is attempting to control another person, he is trying to influence behavior by words, rather than action. This is usually a bad situation and should be avoided in almost all cases. An example of a positive control is a parent sometimes needing to control the activities of a minor child.

It's a trick question because either one of it can be chosen. One's choice to be influenced or choice to be controlled. However if this question leans for literal meaning, then the answer is no. Influence and Control are two different scenarios. It also depends on the situation ask for.

depending on how much influence they have on you. If you find yourself imitating every thing they do, you are being controlled. If you take the good and leave the bad, you have found yourself a good influence.

Definitely not! "Influenced" means you admire a quality in the personality of a person and you try to make it your own. "Controlled" , is when the other person bosses you and most of the times you want to run out of it.

No. Being influenced means you admire something and change slightly because of it. Controlled means you let something/one change you completely.

In the strictest terms, yes. But in the colloquial, no. Influence is more passive.
