As the comedian Rodney Dangerfield once said, "Steak and sex my favorite pair, I get em both the same way, very rare."

I assume you mean beef.
I do not like steak. But when I do eat steak I'd eat it rare.
Best steak in the world can be had in Argentina or Uruguay.
and of course red wine and a pretty woman like Loraine to accompany. You see the beef is the unimportant part of the meal.

If it's a good steak - with kosier salt & pepper cooked in a cast iron pan, medium rare.
If it's filet mignon, wrapped with bacon, sprinkled with kosier salt, on the (charcoal) grill - medium rare.
If it's a crappy peice of steak, marinated for a few hours, broiled, and a side of A-1. Medium rare.

I used to eat my steak well done, until people began to chargrill my steak to death (after that meat scare years and years ago, a few cooks started to overdo it). Now I ask for medium well to insure my steak will not be overcooked.

I'm rather boring and like mine medium well. I used to love my steak rare, but then I got sick. Then I cut down to med rare and still go sick. So, I had to cut down to medium well and I love it!
