This is what you have to do, take the pen apart, this is not easy but it can be done. You'll notice that the mechanism that is connected to the spring is kind of a cog, it will have 4 or five "teeth". On the base of the "plunger" there is also a set of "teeth", the clicking comes from these two units making contact with each other, the mechanism connected to the spring actually rotates each time you push down on the plunger. Once you have removed the spring, and the cog attached to it, what you need to do is file down the very tips of the "teeth", not to much, the objective is to just round off the very tip of each tooth. More than likely you won't be able to get the plunger out, but if you can, file the tips of the teeth on the base of that as well. Reassemble, you'll notice the clicking has virtually stopped all together, but there will always be a little sound, you may also notice that it takes less effort to push the plunger down, almost like a hair-pin trigger, very sensitive... it should increase efficiency by 10 to 15%. Research is based on Paper Mate Dyna-grip pen, Medium sized tip. Good Luck : )

No way the click comes from the the spring in it. But there are pens that have caps on the them that way you don't have to click. Sorry i couldn't give a better answer. I dont know, either
