Well it depends on your age and yes it can be normal for the first 5 days of my 7 day cycle i bleed so bad that i soak a overnight pad in about 1-1:30 hours if you continue to bleed heavy like this for more than 5 days i would definitely tell you to go and speak with a gynaecologist. In the mean time just keep changing the pad regularly and watch for any color changes in your menstrual flow because if it is coming out that heavy and its brown you could have a possible infection. Just keep tabs on your cycle.

Yes its normal I do this sometimes if u r bleeding as heavy as u say what I do is put a tampon in and wear a pad at the same time and the tampon should slow the bloods roll some and should help u cover the pad less faster!

It's normal because the first period is pretty heavy so it wont be so heavy 4 ever dont worry visit www.beinggirl.com Great website P.S. You are only suppose to have a pad on for 2-4 hours [hint hint] Congrats to coming to adult-hood Good luck ♥Melissa♥

Some friends were talking about this kind of thing a few days ago, one of them is a doctor. Heavy bleeding like that isn't normal and should be checked out ASAP. Go to a gynecologist, because most GPs won't have the experience in this kind of speciality.

If you just started getting periods this is normal. Also, be prepared for it to last up to 12 days as well.

You should go to the gyno. When I was younger I was the same way and it really was an inconvenience especially while you are in school. I went to the gyno and they put me on the pill. Not only did the pill regulate and reduce the flow but it also took away my cramps.
