I am a huge fan of U2. Green Day sicken me. When they were performing "the Saints are Coming" I couldn't stand how Green Day seemed to be riding the coattails of U2. I myself didn't like them performing together. Did the bands do the perfoemance/record for money, love, or both? What do you think?

Don't get me wrong, I did like the song, it's just that Green Day and U2 have completly differant styles and I really don't think that they needed to perform together

I think their performance together was good...I thought it was kind of cool that they paid homage to an older punk song (if anything, that is kind of out of Bono's element). Green Day was already pretty popular when this song was released, so I don't know about riding U2's coattails. If you like the song, isn't that all that really matters? I don't know, maybe not...

YINGZ: Dude, don't you know that dissing U2 is blasphemy!! Bono's voice is gold....mmmm...Bono...

u2 and green day did it for money and love. They love money but their humans so they feel what terrible things have been going on lately so they united....i think anyway that the song was very good...both bands kept their typical singing and playing type... it`s not very much (very very)commercial stuff(though it is uh) but the lyric was good (sorry but i`m sure billie wrote it)
Good luck hatin green day and lovin u2
Promise i`ll do the opposite (uh jokin,i`m hype tonight because i have no parent at home right now...i love freedom)
