I play the flute and have been playing for about four years now, but I'm not very good at it, but then I saw this Jazz Band and I noticed that one girl in my secion of flute also plays the Sax in the Jazz, and my question is, should I play Sax in Jazz band and Flute or just play flute for the rest of my life?

First of all, to the guy who said the flute is "generally considered the easiest instrument to play", you are very wrong. There are difficult things about each instrument. You probably have no idea the hard work that it takes to perfect your embouchure on a flute. To get a beautiful sound, you do need a perfect embouchure, especially in the high register (which is incredibly high, if you didn't realize) and any tiny changes will seriously affect your sound.
So, getting back to the question. Do what makes you happy. Don't switch just because that other girl plays both. If you truly love playing the flute, stick with it, and I promise you, you will improve with time. If you hate it or feel so-so, go ahead and try a new instrument like the sax. It isn't a terribly hard switch to make.
Whatever you do, good luck and keep playing!

Many musicians double on these 2 instruments. However, the sax is more difficult (and expensive) to play, so if you're having trouble on the flute, which is generally considered the easiest band instrument to play...your call.
