The are all good. For psychodrama check PSYCHO, VERTIGO, REAR WINDOW, MARNIE. Straight action try NORTH BY NORTHWEST and THE BIRDS.
If you watch these films today you may not actually be all that impressed because they might not seem all that different from many films that you have already seen. But that is the point. Hitchcock lead the way. Films are the way the are due in large part to the influence his films had on the rest of the filmmakers then and still to this day.

he is a writer/director and he was years ahead of his time. some movies that he made which are absolutely excellent even by today's standards are the birds, psycho, north by northwest, rope, and strangers on a train. everyone's favorite seems to be vertigo, but that movie sucks - there's a scene in that movie where all that's happening is jimmy stewart is driving through san francisco, following this woman for, seriously, 15 minutes of screen time. and that's all that's happening. no talking, no action, just driving around. then there's another scene where he finds this woman (who he dearly loves and who is supposed to be dead) and all that's different is her hair color - and he doesn't recognize her! what? lame. all aforementioned films are fantastic, though.

I caught one recently, and it was great, can't believe I've never heard of it. It's called "The Rope". Jimmy Stewert is in it (like alot of his movies) See if you can find it, I caught it on TV, on AMC. Good Luck. All his stuff is pretty good, watch everything you can get your hands on. It's not "horror" by today's standards, but they are still messed up movies.

He was amazing. He used to have a show where 30 minute thrillers/horror stories would air. He was a genius.
"The Birds" was a great movie too.
