A lot of people are big whiners that get offended at anything . . . ( and usually are minimally productive)
Really, we should ship all the offended wimpies to their own little island where they can annoy each other .
People with a real life are too busy to sit around and whine so much, they are busy getting stuff done !

All people deserve to be offended at some point. Everyone does stupid things that are worth ridiculing. I know I have and I'm sure you have as well. The big problem with all these anti-offending people is they need to get thicker skin. Most of the time someone makes a comment about something or other, then those the comment was directed at aren't even the ones getting upset. It is the thought police who feel like everything has to be all happy and wishy-washy that get upset for those whom the comment may have been directed. And they throw everyone into a frenzy and the rest of us have to hear about it. Its a waste.

People need to get a little backbone and not take everything so damned personally. It is not against the law, nor should it be to offend someone. But someone's always got to have a problem with someone else. This Rosie O'Donnell crap is a prime example. I heard today about how she made some comment about how the Chinese would report Danny DeVito being all wasted a couple weeks ago on a talk show. She said they would say "Ching-chong Danny DeVito, ching-chong" this or that or whatever, and now some Colored Lawyers Association or something to that effect is all pissed off at her for it. Now I'm no Rosie fan I'll tell you that, but come on, sometimes people need to let things slide off their back. If they did that more often, then less people would say stupid sh!t because they know it will not offend anyone and their goal is offense.

Thus, in conclusion, if everyone would get a sense of humor and not think the worst of all those around them, then we just might be able to get over this whole "who offended me today" business. Thanks and have a nice day.

P.S. I can only hope my answer offended someone on here as I am not above being offensive. I think people need to hear the truth whether they like it or not, and sometimes that truth can be offensive.

Now, your question was "Do all people". How about people in prison, I am sure they are offended every day,and they do not have any rights to speak of and hardly have the right to be offended. But your question was for the majority of us, not incarcerated right? No, people do not have the right not to be offended and certainly they should not have the right to punish those who offend them. If I buy a ticket to a ball game and sit next to a drunk and disorderly guy, I am going to be offended, but I dont have the right to punish this person, other than calling security and getting them to remove the guy. My liberty ends, where yours begins.

Look at the bill of rights! Do you see any reference to not being offensive? No one has the right not to be offended, but I do have the right to be offensive. If a government or even a legal system were to be so dumb as to waste its time worrying about who would be offended, then you would become subject to terrorist attacks, ineffectual leadership, reverse discrimination, and illegal immigration as well as political divisions along party lines and a verbally challenged president. Punishing people who offended them would become a national pastime, and the country would be overrun with law firms. Who would want to live in a place like that?

From where would this "right" originate? It's certainly not in our Bill of Rights in the US Constitution. It's not understood to be an unalienable "right" spelled out by Jefferson in the Declaration of Independence. There is no Western historic basis for such a "right". I apologize if this answer offends anyone.

Well everyone is entitled to their own opinons, but they also need to take responsibility for themselves. If you offend me I have every right to avoid you, but I don't have the right to try and make you shut up. I can complain, but I can't punish.

It'd be great if that was the case. Only problem is, in most cases everyone would end up dead. Even the most thoughtful, courteous people offend someone-sometime.

Otherwise big mouths like Al Sharpton would be in jail.
