My daughter has anywhere from 4.5oz to 6oz every 3-4 hours and is sleeping through the night, so she doesn't have a bottle then.

Actually, don't look at every feeding. Babies should get about 2-2.5 ounces of breast milk or formula PER POUND that they weigh. So, if baby weighs 12 lbs, baby should get between 24-30 ounces a day. As long as the daily total adds up to some where in there, it's fine. Babies are the same as adults....sometimes you're more hungry than others. Sometimes you can eat one slice of pizza, sometimes two because you're hungry! My doctor told me to keep a rough estimate of each feeding in my head and add them, it doesn't have to be exact. Plus, forcing a baby to eat bigger meals so they go 4 hours instead of 2.5 can lead to obesity, gas, acid reflux and even ulsars (sp??). Let baby eat until they are full and no more, don't worry about each feeding, look at the daily total!

Your 3 month old should be eating between 4-6 times per day. Each feeding should have between 4 and 7 ounces for a total of 25 to 35 ounces per day.

As a parent myself I have a 6 week old baby and she's already eating about 6 oz every feeding. I wouldn't go by what doctors say because they told me 2-3 oz for her but she kept crying so I fed her until she's satisfied. I would recommend feeding your child until they latch off or he/she looks full. Try burping and re-insert the breast or bottle and see if they are still hungry. When they are satisfied you'll know.

Well, I I think that a 3 month old will stop feeding when they are satisfied...after all there is no measurement or gage on a Female breast or nipple..so your baby will stop eating when he/she feels satisfied and content.

My son (2.5 mos)eats no more than four ounces if it's formula. If I nurse him first and then supplement with formula he'll take one-two ounces. HTH
