Last night after having sex with my husband i went to the bathroom and noticed a small amount of spotting. It was about the size of a twenty cent priece and stopped straight away, no bleeding since then.
I'm sposed to be 5 weeks pregnant. Has this happened to anyone else? What causes it? Should i be worried?

It is normal and is more than likely caused because your hubby's penis was hitting your cervix and caused it to bleed. Unless it gets worse or becomes bright red, i wouldn't worry to much.

You're probably fine. As long as there was no cramping and the bleeding did stop, then you should be ok. I would however, suggest that you take it easy at least until you can consult with your doc and are given the clear to continue having sex. Better safe than sorry.
Good luck and congrats!

My doctor warned me in my last pregnancy not to worry if I spot after sex. He said it's common. (I had a previous miscarriage, so he wanted to be sure I wouldn't worry if it happened.)
It has something to do with the cervix and your blood vessles. I don't remember the specifics of it, but it's often normal. It doesn't happen to everyone but it happens.
If it's just light spotting I wouldn't worry, if the bleeding is more than spotting, you can call your doctor and they will let you know if it's somethign to worry about.
Good Luck.

Anytime you have any kind of spotting or blood this early in your pregnancy, you should at least call your doctor and let them know just to be on the safe side because spotting and bleeding can be a sign of miscarriage. Don't worry yourself because it may be nothing, but I would inform my doctor. Take care and God bless.

I had this when I was about 4 months with my second pregnancy. I never went to the dr cause it was right after intercourse, and it was only a small amount one time.
If you are worried about it call your dr, I mean, we pay them enough, might as well get your moneys worth!
Chances are your fine though!

This has happened to me soo many times. I am pregnant with my second baby and this still happens to me every once in a while. I talked to my nurse and she said it's what you call manipulating the cervix. But like someone already said if it is BRIGHT red like a wound then you might want call your daughter and ask him to check it out to be on the safe side.

it's happened to me as well. The doctors are concerned if it's more of a constant flow and if it's bright red. My doc told me that during pregnancy you have more blod flow and the capilaries in your vagina are much more engorged and easier to burst. It's nothing major, as long as it's stoped, but if you need peace of mind call your doctor

It happens in early pregnancy, he probably bumped your cervix, it shouldn't be any cause for concern. If it happens at an odd time, without a probably cause that when you worry. Bring it up to your dr at your next appointment either way.

if u feel worried about it call the doctor, but a little spotting that doesnt continue shouldnt be bad. ive heard from my doctor that a LITTLE spotting after sex is normal, because when ur pregnant ur blood vessels in ur vagina become enlarged.
