In the Military felony investigators are military men and women. they have a pay grade, but this pay grade is not known to the ones they investigate. They are designated with the identity of Special Agent. The SAC is in charge of each office which means special agent in charge. Many felony investigators in the military are Warrant officers and there are some who are Sargent's or specialists. It is simply a title like Detective only a federal title.
