A lot of negative attributes are unjustly levelled at our travelling community. Sadly, the stereotype image of a group of non tax-paying, thieving parasites is all too often re-enforced by the gutter press.
I would like to address, and scupper, the notion that this diverse sector of our society serves no useful purpose, by raising the following points:
1/ From where else can one buy good quality, locally made pegs?
2/ Where is the first place you go when you need white heather?
3/ What would we do with all the left-over tarmac?
4/ Think of the benefit to local businesses and stores when families gather, with their boost in local disposable income.
5/ How else could you up-grade your motor mower on your contents insurance?
6/ Who else would do all those little building and garden jobs?
And finally, 7/ how would a policeman be able to afford a nice 4 bed detached house without the overtime pay?
So please stop 'traveller bashing' and start to see these nice people for what they really are.

1; Proper gypseys you'll barely hear or see.
2; Who else would you go to tell your fortune.
3; If theres a gypsey kid in your local school however bright they are your school will apply for extra money and get it.
4; They pay 80+% for there fuel, Gas and electric than the 11% on domestic fuel.
5; There'd be no-on for you to get the jobs you can't realy afford to have done for half what you'd pay company with a unit address.

1 I'm from that stock !.
2 they are great people who just wish to live their lives as they want.
3 If it were not for them we'd have no travelling fairs or circuses.
4 Friendly and take care of their own.
5 you should not give a sh*t what other people think of you !!.

they look after their children well, they love their families, they dress in the best and when they christian gypsies they are lovely people
