Probably a little of both. Being away from home for the first time, a girl would wear footed sleepers to get into a comfort zone and feel safe - like when she was a little girl. Footed sleepers are also really warm - and no need to keep putting slippers on!

Its just cozy and comfortable to be all covered up and snug sometimes. Girls just get cold often and footed sleepers keep them warm.

It is soooooooo comfortable you should try it some time, I have pink ones, don't think pink will suit you, maybe go for blue.
