Does anyone else think that the germans are rude and arrogant. I recently went to Germany and the people would just barge passed me without an apology. Does anyone else think this is rude.

I think it's rude to visit someone else's home and then judge them harshly for their customs. Please don't be another ugly (and loud) american.

As an american I also think it is rude.. but it is another countries, with other customs. Germans don't often obey lines (as in america, we have lines for everything everywhere, and you are taught in preschool to get in a line).. in Germany they just try to remember who was before them and then continue so on.. like at the butcher. When someone cuts in front of you, just say something to them, put them in their place and let them know you were there first. Or when they bump into you, say something sarcastic, like excuse you!, most of them understand english anyways.

"u need to speak to them so slow and diff form because they just dont understand english words."

you can't be serious right? Why don't you spend less time trashing an entire country, its culture and its people and learn their language!! You're in Germany, talking to a German, so speak German! don't worry though, I'm sure the Germans are praying for you to be able to go back to LA too. Judging by the attitudes of some of the people here, any rudeness directed at you was well-deserved.

I dont know. How many other countries have you visited? I've lived there for several years and found them to be no ruder that anywhere else in the world.

Now, the US has "inherited" a certan level of politeness from England. That includes "cueing," which is typically English, and is not oberved in most other countries.

I was in Amsterdam back in January, on my own. While I was there I met 3 German lads who were staying at the same hotel. They were on a stag weekend and they adopted me as their token Englishman. We went out on the piss that night and had a right laugh. I had preconceptions about the Germans, but they completely changed that my view on that.

Germans (just like any other nationality) are the same as us. You get good people and a**holes with any nationality.

Well thanks lovey. My dog's German (quarter Belgian), but I must admit he's a rude boy and behaves like that too. Plus he eats pies that aren't his, and barks and bites people and pisses in train stations.

Different culture, different social behaviour. Chill, soak up the difference, it's great.

Yeah, like Germans are ruder than Americans. LOL
That's given me a good laugh...........

EDIT: LOL@blahblahoops. I don't call everyone a moron mate. I called YOU one for saying it was O.K to murder people because they are prostitutes. You then went on to 3 other questions I had been on and posted insults about me. It really doesn't get much more moronic (or childish) than that. So thanks for helping me prove my point about you. Have a nice night ;)

I think only the brits and americans are polite, mostly in these two countrys bumping and barging into people would cause a fight. In the rest of central europe, no one stands in line for the bus or anything elsa, in busy shops you just pick a number and wait, also government buildings and police stations, when going to enquire about anything. After growing up in the U.K. i found this bad mannered to start with, but now i do as they do , but must stop and think when ever i am in the U.K. not to behave as they do.
