Teenagers generally become mature when they have discovered something bad in their life. It's like some sort of wake-up call. Your question will never have a direct answer. There are extremely mature 13 year olds and stupid childish 19 year olds. But more often than not, the one's who are mature in general is because it's in their genes more than it is because they want to.

You can thumb me down if you like. You didn't half boll*cked me on your comments from my question on pregnancy. It was a sarcastic joke, not what you thought it was!

It's different for everybody. A 7 year old kid can be mature while the 31 year old husband of mine can still act like a kid...

But there is a time and place for everything. It depends on the environment and situation. For teenagers, I think they should be able to recognize when they should be mature and when they can relax and be a kid... they got till x number of years till they're a legal adult...

That depends entirely on your definition of "mature".

Mature enough to make their own decisions? When they can demonstrate that they can make the right, responsible ones.

Mature as in not throwing snot at your classmates? That should be a given.

Mature as in physically developed? That's a natural biological variance that can't be given a timeline.

Mature as in sexually active? I set my opinion at a minimum of 16, and even then only if it can be done responsibly.

Are all or any of these things happening in the present? In my experience: Rarely.

Everyone grows up at their own pace... They should become mature when they need to or want to. Like if they have to move out then they have to become mature. But they should be mature to a certain degree. Doing own laundry, doing dishes, household work, etc. should start at the latest 13 or 14...

It depends on the teen really. They become mature when they do, everyone is different. At 12 and 13 I was always more mature then my classmates, it wasn't until 17 and 18 that they were catching up.

Not sure this question even makes sense!
Everyone is different and everyone matures at differnt times.
Example: I was very mature at the age 14, (years ago).
My sister is currently 17, and acts as though she is 5... seriously, her and my 5 year old daughter are about the same!
My brother didn't mature until he was like 21.

It's really a process. A teenage doesn't just wake up one day and go from playing with legos to getting married. I'm wondering what you mean by "mature." What sort of habits/behaviours are you talking about?

You have to give them GREAT resonsibility. That way they grow up quicker. My mother did it to me and i'm doing it to my kids when I have them.

I was mentally mature by the age of around 7 or 8.

i think 14 because a lot of little kids look up to people when their like 14-15

This is my friends opinion:

There isn't really an age on maturity! you have to be responsible and act it....And BE it!
