The reason a switch is called a switch is it switches the transmit channel to the recieve channel. To hook 2 pc's together you need a cross over patch cord. Basically pairs 1,2 and 3,6 are swapped. Without this transmit goes to transmit, and recieve goest to recieve. Their for not working.
