I am 6 weeks pregnant. I am having some spotting right now but you have to tell your friend to calm down and relax. I've had 6 pregancies 2 of those were live births (my boys are almost 5 & 6 now) the others were misscarriages in the 1st trimester. After the 4 miscarriage I had to believe its not me, its just not in Gods plan for me right now or something was chromosomally wrong with that baby that the antibodies in my body worked against it.

Tell your friend look chill out if this is something God wants for you everything will work out, think positive happy thoughts. BTW I just took a B-Complex supplement it aids at combating stress & fatigue. So instead of taking my prenatal pill this a.m. I took the B-Complex and I feel alittle bit a ease. All I can say for myself is that if God wants me to have this child he will take care me & the baby and this is just another way my body is adjusting to being pregnant again. We'll see what He has planned for me. Take care and let us know how your friend faired.

It is really normal to have spotting in your first month of pregnacy. Sometimes even in your second. I wouldn't recommend drinking any tea's because of the herbs. And also No soaking in hot baths. The heat is no good for baby. I have 5 childern and I had spotting in the first month to with some of my pregnacies and I remember I freaked out to! Even cramping is normal with a first pregnacy because it's the first time your body's ever been pregnant. Heavy bleeding with craming is what you dont want. And stress is definitely no good. Tell your friend just to try her best to relax and allow the embryo to latch on to her womb. I dont know how she feels about prayer but it's been a strength in my life especially with 5 kids and all. Maybe you can just spend some time with her, take some movies over and help keep her mind off of everything and just have a day of rest. Well I wish your friend and her baby and also you and your baby the best of luck may God bless you all!

I have had two pregnancies, a miscarriage and a successful birth. In reflecting back on my miscarriage, the best advice I can give is that whatever is going to happen (good or bad) is already underway. If the bleeding is a bad sign, that means the pregnancy has already started to fail. And, as you point out, it could be nothing. I think the best thing she can do is surround herself with supportive people (seems like she's doing that) and give herself the time to let it unfold. I wish her luck.

She HAS to relax, if she doesn't her hypertension can cause a misscarriage in itself. My sister in law just recently miscarried, she started with spotting, then a light bleed, then massive massive cramps that didnt' let up until the baby expelled. If she's not having mass cramps tell her to take a day off, have bath and relax.

If they heard the heartbeat that is a great sign, let her know that. I spotted with both pregnancy from about week 8 to week 13. My doctor said it was fine as long as it wasn't red and clotty.

Tell her to relax, maybe stay off her feet as much as possible until it passes, even bedrest, but to stop stressing herself so much about it- stressing about something she can't control not only doesn't help the situation, it makes things WORSE for the baby. I'll keep her in my prayers.

Well she's got to relax somehow. The more she worries the more likely she is to miscarry. She needs to take it easy both physically and mentally, so maybe have her listen to some calming music, or her favorite movies.

If this is her first pregnancy then that is not uncommon. Some women actually continue their period several months into their pregnancy with their first child. If she has pain or severe stomache cramps along with it then she may want to see her doctor.
